This is WHY we are bringing you the American Lung Association's spokesman: Cedric Jamie Rutland, M.D. Dr. Rutland is a board certified Pulmonologist & a certified badass!! He is passionate about lung health & had the honor of going in depth on the topics of vaping, cannabis, tobacco, cancer, death, lung health & his journey to becoming a pulmonologist.
The CDC does mention on their website that E-cigarettes have the potential to benefit adult cigarette smokers who are not pregnant if used as a complete substitute for regular cigarettes & other smoked tobacco products (https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/basic_information/e-cigarettes/pdfs/Electronic-Cigarettes-Infographic-508.pdf). Past research has shown, though not harmless, vaping may have fewer toxins than cigarettes. The intention with this podcast is not to vilify vaping, but rather, to examine what has changed & why this epidemic is happening right before our eyes.
